A cosmetic dentistry clinic used aggregated visual preference data to inform consultations, focusing on natural enhancements that improved harmony rather than dramatic alteration. In workplace settings, training programs that included feedback on nonverbal cues—posture, eye contact, and grooming—led to measurable increases in perceived professionalism and approachability.

One illustrative case involved a community theater group that conducted volunteer ratings on headshots prior to casting promotions. The group discovered that subtle changes in expression and clothing color increased perceived warmth and audience appeal, boosting ticket sales without altering performers’ core appearances. Another example comes from a health initiative that linked improved sleep and skin care to higher self-rated attractiveness and greater social confidence. These examples underline the interplay between health, presentation, and perception.

Testing can also spotlight cultural variability.
